Our Mission
AlternativeArt is a platform for curators and artists to collaborate on exhibition projects. We believe the best part of art is in the making — the creative process, the relationships formed along the way, and the journeys that unfold behind the scenes in the studio.
Our curators provide the structure and context that allows artists to concentrate more directly on meaning in their work. AlternativeArt sets in place the framework for this to happen.
How It Works
Curators submit exhibition proposals which are reviewed by our team. Once approved, curators invite artists to participate and together they develop a Project Charter. Artists then document their creative process through studio journals, sharing work-in-progress snapshots that give viewers a window onto the daily practice of making art.
